I have been incredibly blessed by this last year, so I thought I'd share 12 things I have learned this past year:
1. Be assertive; stand your ground.
2. Confidence is not vanity.
3. Life is so much more fun if you like yourself.
4. Pray. Pray. Pray. Don't wait for a tragedy or disappointment to pray. Don't cease in thanksgiving.
5. Sing very loudly like a boss (Dance too if you feel so inclined) to Alicia Key's "Girl on Fire."
6. It's okay to take a year to read a 60 page book; you'll find what you need at just the right moment.
7. God's timing is not only perfect, but an absolute form of grace.
8. Appreciate the leadership around you. Give honor to whom honor is due.
9. Let your words be few, but that doesn't mean you cannot join in the conversation -- oftentimes you'll find yourself saying what you've thought, but never said. Your opinion is just as important as any one else's.
10. Not only does wisdom breed humility, but love is the groundwork for it all.
11. Expansion is a good, scary thing.
12. One of the best ways to enjoy life is to get to know someone, and to allow them to get to know you.
Hope you all enjoy welcoming in the New Year, see you on the other side :)1. Be assertive; stand your ground.

~ Brooke Fraser, "Here's To You"
